What is Ottr?
Ottr is a Nelson Irrigation engineering prototype to explore the use of cloud technologies to view historical Twig data.
Verify MC Firmware Version is 0.1.41 or higher
Connect to MC
Connect to the MC with the Twig MC app using NEARBY mode.
Go to System Settings
Select the settings/system tab.
Verify Firmware Version
Verify the firmware version number is 0.1.41 or higher.
Update Firmware Version
If an update is available, tap to update the firmware and follow the instructions.
Check Thumbdrive Recognition
Thumbdrive Requirements
Your thumb drive must be MS-DOS/FAT or VFAT
ExFAT is not supported.
Some larger thumb drives come with ExFAT as the initial format and must be first reformatted.
Ensure Thumbdrive Inserted
Insert the thumbdrive into the MC's USB slot. It does not matter which slot.
Go to System Settings
Select the settings/system tab.
Open Diagnostics
Tap the diagnostics button.
Examine Thumbdrive Information
Locate the section labeled df_/run/thumbdrive and verify that the drive capacity is as expected.
If the section is not present, or is present but shows the wrong size, the drive is not being properly recognized. Please let a Nelson developer know about the type of thumbdrive you are using so we can improve the product.
Subscribe a Twig MC to Ottr
Connect to MC
Connect to the MC with the Twig MC app using NEARBY mode.
Go to System Settings
Select the settings/system tab.
Add a Remote Connection
Scroll down to REMOTE CONNECTIONS and tap the ADD button.
Make it Permanent
Select Permanent Remote Access in the menu.
Share Using Email
Select Mail in the popup share sheet.
Send Email
Address the email to:
sub@parse.twigwirelesscontrols.com
No subject is necessary, send the mail.
